Fall Rod Run in Pigeon Forge: A Weekend of Cars, Mountains & Fun
If you love classic cars, hot rods, and the excitement of a busy mountain-town weekend, September is a great time to visit the Smokies. One of the biggest events on the Pigeon Forge calendar is returning this month: the Fall Pigeon Forge Rod Run, happening September 17–19, 2026, at the LeConte Center.
For three days, Pigeon Forge becomes a gathering place for automotive enthusiasts from across the country. Hundreds of classic cars, muscle cars, custom builds, and hot rods take center stage, while vendors, a massive automotive swap meet, and a car corral give visitors plenty to explore.
A Car Show That Takes Over Pigeon Forge
The Rod Run isn't the kind of car show you simply walk through and leave. The excitement extends beyond the event center, with incredible vehicles cruising through Pigeon Forge throughout the weekend. For car lovers, it's an opportunity to see unique builds up close, discover automotive memorabilia, and enjoy the energy that comes with one of the Smokies' most anticipated fall events.
Even if you're not a dedicated car enthusiast, there's something fun about being in Pigeon Forge during Rod Run weekend. The Parkway comes alive, restaurants and attractions are buzzing, and there's an unmistakable feeling that something exciting is happening around every corner.
Make a Smoky Mountain Weekend Out of It
The best part about visiting for Rod Run is that the car show can easily be just one part of your getaway.
Spend some time exploring the Great Smoky Mountains, take a scenic drive through the national park, or head into Gatlinburg for shopping, dining, and mountain-town entertainment. You can also make time for Dollywood's Harvest Festival, which begins September 14 and brings seasonal food, entertainment, and fall atmosphere to the park.
Then, after a full day of exploring, return to your cabin and enjoy a quieter side of the Smokies. Grab dinner, relax on the porch, and take in the mountain air before another exciting day in Pigeon Forge.
